Several women who have held community leadership roles — including some pioneering politicians — will share their perspectives in a Thursday panel discussion in Vancouver.
The 7 p.m. “First Thursday” event at the Clark County Historical Museum, 1511 Main St., will feature a panel of women who have served or are serving as community leaders of Clark County. They will discuss the changes they have seen in Southwest Washington during their careers and the legacy they leave for future generations.
The speakers will include some political trailblazers. Connie Kearney was Clark County’s first woman commissioner from 1976 to 1980. Nan Henriksen was elected as the first woman mayor of Camas in 1983 and served until 1992, leading its transition from a small mill town.
Other scheduled panelists are Sandra Day (Ridgefield city councilor), Pat Jollota (former Vancouver city councilor) and Martha Martin (East County Fire & Rescue commissioner).
