Detectives ask for witnesses to Washougal hit-and-run

Detectives are asking to hear from anyone who witnessed a hit-and-run that injured a teenager Washougal Wednesday afternoon.

Police continue to search for the driver of a 2008 Ford F-350 that was traveling east on state Highway 14 and turning north onto 32nd Street in Washougal when it struck the side of a westbound Jeep Cherokee, according to Washington State Patrol.

The driver of the Jeep, Tanner Pfaff, 17, of Camas, lost control of the vehicle and the Jeep overturned, coming to rest in the westbound lane, according to troopers. Donnelle Bogoto, 17, sustained injuries in the crash and was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released. Pfaff was not injured.

Police quickly located the pickup near 22nd and E streets close to Hathaway Elementary School but have since learned that the owner was not involved in the collision.

The truck belongs to someone who was doing landscaping work at a residence who had come found the truck missing about the same time as the crash, Trooper Will Finn said.

Finn said the registered owner is not a suspect.

As investigators develop leads and work toward on getting a description of the driver of the pickup, they ask that anyone who witnessed the crash call Det. Jennifer Ortiz at 360-449-7948.
