Neighborhood watch patrols set for today

Volunteers with Neighbors on Watch are doing large-scale patrols today to look for and report any suspicious activity. Forty-two volunteers with the Vancouver Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office will be patrolling the county by foot, by bicycle and by car. One group will work in a truck specially equipped to detect stolen vehicles.

This marks the first time county and city NOW volunteers will work together. Volunteers are trained to observe and report suspicious activity, but they are not police officers and do not try to intervene if they spot a crime in progress.

Anyone interested in joining the city’s NOW program can contact Kelly Cheney at 360-487-7467 or Kelly.Cheney@cityofvancouver.us
