WENATCHEE — Bruce Jenner, the 1976 Olympic decathlon champion and TV personality, has been named grand marshal of Wenatchee’s annual St. Patrick’s Day parade.

The parade is organized by a group called the Loyal Order of Hibernians, who released details of the parade in a news release.

No grand marshal ever named has actually appeared in the parade, which dates to 1981.

Past grand marshals have included Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus (co-marshals), Charlie Sheen, and former president of Egypt Hosni Mubarak.

The official parade route is the single block on Orondo Avenue between Mission Street and North Wenatchee Avenue. Staging for the event can stretch a block or more to the south along Mission.

The parade begins at “7ish p.m.” Staging begins at 6:15 p.m.

As many as 50 entries are expected this year, including floats, marching bands, bag pipers, and Wenatchee Mayor Frank Kuntz. Past parades have drawn a quirky mix of Wenatchee society.

The Hibernians have also named the following directors: public relations, Bill Belichick, head coach, New England Patriots; and communications co-directors Brian Williams, anchor of NBC News, and Marshawn Lynch, Seattle Seahawks player.
