The third suspect in a January drive-by shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy appeared in court Wednesday.

Brandon Marquise Duckworth, 18, of Portland faces seven counts of first-degree assault with a firearm and a charge each of drive-by shooting and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Duckworth was one of three men who fired at least 12 rounds at a group of people sitting on the porch of a house in the 2300 block of Neals Lane at about 2:45 p.m. on Jan. 30, according to court documents filed in the case. One of the bullets struck the knee of a 16-year-old boy.

The suspects fled in a green van that was chased by several vehicles. The chase ended at the intersection of East 33rd Street and St. Johns Boulevard, where a second shooting occurred after the suspects realized they were being followed, court documents state.

Two of the suspects, Shawn “Mumu” D. Crawford, 22, and Mykease O. Lamb, 16, who are brothers and also from Portland, fled from the van but were later captured by officers, according to court documents.

The third suspect, Duckworth, fled in the vehicle, which had two females inside, to the Lloyd Center in Portland, where Duckworth was captured on video surveillance, according to court documents.

Portland Police Bureau’s Gang Enforcement Team helped Vancouver investigators to identify Duckworth, according to court documents.

Vancouver detectives learned that Duckworth had been arrested by Portland police for another incident involving a weapon and so Vancouver detectives applied for an arrest warrant for Duckworth in the drive-by shooting case.

Judge David Gregerson set Duckworth’s bail at $300,000. He is scheduled to be arraigned March 24.

Crawford face charges of three counts of first-degree assault and drive-by shooting and Lamb faces similar charges. Both of their bails were also set at $300,000.

Lamb was automatically remanded to adult court due to the seriousness of the charges but will be housed in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center.
