Battle Ground police arrested three people who were allegedly using drugs Tuesday afternoon in an area considered problematic by police and residents.

Around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, officers were sent to the 200 block of Northeast First Avenue after a caller told 911 dispatchers that several people were smoking marijuana. Officers went to the area and watched several people pass and smoke from a pipe, the Battle Ground Police Department said.

After further investigation, they arrested 21-year-old Raymond A. Park on suspicion of distributing a controlled substance to persons under age 18 and for possessing a controlled substance believed to be Ritalin. A 15-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of possessing marijuana and a substance believed to be Ecstasy. Justin M. Wegley, 19, was arrested on the same allegations.

Park and Wegley were booked into the Clark County Jail, while the girl’s case was referred to Clark County Juvenile Court.

The police agency said that area long Northeast First Avenue has been a trouble spot where people are regularly seen loitering. Anyone who witnesses suspicious activity is encouraged to contact police.
