The Free Clinic of Southwest Washington is hosting a fundraiser breakfast in honor of its co-founder, Dr. Sam Beall, and to commemorate the clinic’s 25th year.

The breakfast is 7 a.m. April 23 at the Red Cross Building at the Vancouver Barracks, 605 East Barnes St. Tickets are $25.

Beall and Father Ed Rankin opened the original Community Health Center in 1990 with 10 volunteers providing free urgent medical care one night a week. Today, more than 600 active volunteers provide care to low-income, uninsured and underinsured people five days a week.

The Free Clinic also provides urgent dental care for adults and preventive dental care for children. In addition, vision and diabetes care, immunizations, sports physicals, prescription assistance, community resource navigation and coordination of specialty care have been added over the years.

To purchase tickets for the Sam Beall Memorial Breakfast, go to the Free Clinic website, www.freeclinics.org, or call 360-313-1388.
