SPANAWAY — A Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman says a man who was found ablaze outside a fast-food business in Spanaway was deliberately set on fire.
Spokesman Ed Troyer tells The News Tribune of Tacoma that detectives are investigating it as an assault. He says the motive is unclear.
Fast-food workers who investigated what appeared to be a building blaze on March 12 instead found a 46-year-old transient man on fire outside the business.
Harborview Medical Center in Seattle said Monday that the man was in serious condition.
The burned man told one of the fast-food workers that somebody lit him on fire.”
