TACOMA — The July 4th weekend just got a whole lot louder.

Hard driving rockers Van Halen will kick off a North American tour in little ol’ Auburn when it comes to the White River Amphitheatre on July 5 with special guest Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. April 4 at ticketmaster.com and livenation.com.

To promote the tour, Van Halen will perform on Monday on Hollywood Boulevard for an episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live.” The street concert will be broadcast on both Monday and Tuesday.

“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on ABC.

And yes, in case you’re wondering, original lead singer David Lee Roth is on the tour. He and the band will undoubtedly tear through Van Halen classics such as “Panama,” “Runnin’ With The Devil,” “Jump” and “Hot For Teacher” both on Kimmel and on tour.

Here’s more from the announcement:

Also being released beginning March 31 are remastered versions of “Van Halen” and “1984,” with remastered versions of “Diver Down,” “Women and Children First,” “Van Halen II” and “Fair Warning” due out later this spring. Each album has been cut straight from the quarter-inch tapes for CD, 180-gram vinyl and for the digital version by mastering engineer Chris Bellman, who remastered the original albums for Bernie Grundman Studios, Hollywood, Calif. These albums are being released beginning Tuesday with preorders available now through Amazon and iTunes.

Formed in 1974, Van Halen has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide.
