An inmate at Larch Corrections Center died Saturday in what officials are describing as an apparent suicide.
Larch spokeswoman Danette Gadberry said in a written statement that correctional officers found the inmate unresponsive in his cell at 4:48 p.m. Staff attempted life-saving measures on the man, but he was pronounced dead at 5:25 p.m.
The inmate’s name was not released, as prison officials were still working to notify his next of kin, Gadberry said.
The incident is being investigated by the Department of Corrections and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
