The alleged driver in a single-vehicle crash that seriously injured two of his passengers appeared in Clark County Superior Court on Monday to face allegations of vehicular assault and driving with a suspended license.

Fisianty Bossi, 19, of Vancouver was allegedly driving a 2004 Pontiac west on MacArthur Boulevard near Devine Road about 3 a.m. Friday when the car hit several trees and rocks in the median, crossed into eastbound lanes and rolled before coming to rest on its top in the grass south of the street.

Police said they believe alcohol and excessive speed are factors in the crash.

On Monday, Bossi appeared with a bandage wrapped around his head and a cut near his eye.

The prosecution said one count of vehicular assault may be changed to vehicular homicide because one of the passengers is not expected to live.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed in Superior Court, police arrived at the crash scene and found a passenger, identified as Billyboi Koichy, 20, of Vancouver, crawling out from the front passenger side of the vehicle; he was unable to walk. The driver, later identified by police as Bossi, was trapped in the driver’s seat and his legs were pinned under the steering wheel.

A second passenger was ejected from the car and partially trapped under the wreckage. He was identified by Koichy as Jermaine J. Danis, 17. All three are reportedly cousins.

The passengers were transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. Koichy suffered abrasions and lacerations to his head and pain and bruising to his right leg and shoulder. Danis suffered severe head trauma and fractures to his spine and ribs. He is not expected to survive, court records said. He was in critical condition Monday, according to a hospital spokesman.

During the court hearing, Nick Wood was appointed to represent Bossi.

Bossi is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned May 15.
