A former Vancouver man accused in a 2014 kidnapping and rape case was arraigned Friday in Clark County Superior Court.

David Devon Jackson, 26, of Portland entered not-guilty pleas to three counts of first-degree rape and first-degree kidnapping with sexual motivation in connection.

His trial is scheduled to start Aug. 3.

Jackson is accused of kidnapping an 18-year-old Tacoma woman on Aug. 20, driving her down Interstate 5 to Vancouver and raping her at least three times along the way.

The two had apparently never met in person before the incident but had connected on a social media website.

Jackson was reportedly driving near a store in Tacoma, saw the woman walking, and stopped. He told her he recognized her from the website. She did not immediately recognize him, but still accepted a ride, according to court records.
