Clark women’s soccer advances in NWAC playoffs

Ellie Quercia scored in the 63rd minute as the Clark College women’s soccer team beat Treasure Valley 1-0 in the Northwest Athletic Conference playoffs.
Carla Ruiz recorded the shutout Wednesday at Harmony Sports Complex in Vancouver.
The Penguins (14-1-4) advance to face Highline (15-3-1) in the quarterfinals at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Starfire Sports Complex in Tukwila.
Quercia’s 15th goal of the season was the difference in a physical match that saw a total of six yellow cards.
Clark won the right to host Wednesday’s match by placing second in the NWAC South. Treasure Valley (11-8-2) finished third in the NWAC East.
