SPOKANE — A man wanted by police in connection with an assault was arrested after he posted his address on Facebook.

Deacon J. Wallette, 41, was ordered held on $250,000 bond during a brief court appearance Friday. He is facing charges of first-degree assault and first-degree robbery.

Police were called to the 3000 block of East Wellesley on Nov. 6 for a reported assault. The victim told police that Wallette had assaulted him because he had given Wallette a ride to the hospital but didn’t stay to give him a ride home, according to court documents.

The victim said Wallette used a metal pipe and a machete in the attack. The victim had cuts to his head, hands and legs and required surgery to repair severed tendons, according to court documents.

Within an hour of the attack, Wallette was making posts to his Facebook page about it, saying he didn’t want to go to jail. He also posted a picture of himself holding a machete with the comment “Hes (sic) lucky to still be breathen (sic),” according to court documents.

Several days after the attack, Wallette reportedly posted his address on Facebook, allowing police to find him and arrest him.
