TACOMA — Haggen on Wednesday announced that the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Delaware has confirmed the sale of 47 stores. Stores approved for sale are in Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. Proposed buyers include several without a presence in the Northwest, but the primary buyer, Albertsons, is on the list, with 30 stores located in all five states.

Albertsons is listed as the potential buyer for all 11 Washington stores except one at Liberty Lake, near Spokane, for which Yokes Foods Inc. is listed as the buyer.

Albertsons was named as the buyer for four South Sound stores, including those in Milton, Puyallup, Gig Harbor and Spanaway. Others in the region include stores located in Burien, Renton, Everett, Shoreline and Port Orchard. Albertsons owns Safeway, and it was that merger that led the Federal Trade Commission to order the company to divest itself of Albertsons or Safeway stores that were near one another. Haggen acquired 146 West Coast stores that regulators required be sold.

• Stores in Everett, Shoreline, Port Orchard and Renton will wear the Safeway brand, as will the store near Spanaway at 15805 Pacific Ave. S. and in Gig Harbor at 4831 Point Fosdick Drive NW.

• Stores in Monroe, Burien (two outlets) and Renton will become Albertsons stores, as will stores in Puyallup, at 11012 Canyon Road E., and in Milton at 2800 Milton Way.
