Clark College Learning Center is looking for tutors to help adult students in the Transitional Studies Tutoring Center with basic literacy and English communication skills. Applications are being accepted in October.

Clark County Public Health seeks volunteer health advocates to provide services to pregnant women in Clark County. Help is also needed in all aspects of the syringe exchange program.

Open House Ministries seeks tutors to assist youth for one hour per week in its After School Education program.

Columbia Land Trust is looking for natural lands site stewards to monitor property, survey for wildlife, remove litter, respond to public inquiries, and to be ambassadors for the trust.

Salvation Army is looking for drivers to load and transport food between the food bank and the pantry. Pantry workers are also needed.

SCORE Vancouver is looking for a volunteer to help with client scheduling and other administrative tasks.

Clark County seeks to fill an opening on its Commission on Aging, which addresses the needs of people older than 50, and implements the county’s Aging Readiness Plan. People with experience and expertise in advocating for seniors, launching new programs, public speaking or serving on boards and commissions are encouraged to apply for the two-year volunteer position. The commission meets from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month.

The Aging Readiness Plan covers access to housing, transportation, recreation, a variety of lifestyles, support services and civic or social engagement.

Clark County seeks to fill seven positions on the 13-member Clark Communities Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. Clark County residents with experience and expertise in advocating for biking, walking, transit, active transportation, mobility issues, public speaking or serving on boards and commissions are encouraged to apply for the four-year volunteer positions. The committee typically meets from 4 to 6 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month.

The group reviews future road construction and private development projects to ensure safety for people who travel on foot or by bicycle.
