Letter: Offend no one on 4th of July

Finally, we can stop all the banter about fireworks in the city of Vancouver. There is only one more thing that needs to be done. Eliminate the show at the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site. I am sure you all agree there are vets and pet owners who live near there and there’s no need to put them under any undo duress. Also, it causes traffic problems on the roads and rivers. We sure don’t want to cause any problems for those out there who suffer from road rage syndrome, or are inconvenienced if they are just trying to get somewhere else.

Finally, what I suggest is at dusk on the Fourth of July is to go outside, hold hands and sing “Kumbaya” at the silence. Just be sure the caterwauling doesn’t upset your pets.

Signed by a vet who loves the 4th of July.
