Police investigate robbery at Grand Central credit union

Robber wearing all black reportedly armed with handgun

Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at a credit union in the Grand Central shopping complex near state Highway 14.

Vancouver police responded to the robbery at about 9:30 a.m. at Columbia Credit Union, 108 Grand Blvd., Vancouver Police Department Spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

The suspect is described as a white man with dark hair in his early 20s, who was wearing black clothing and carrying a backpack, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

He reportedly was armed with a handgun.

Police investigated and searched the area but did not find the suspect, Kapp said.
