The driver who died in a fatal head-on collision Saturday night west of Amboy had veered into oncoming traffic, Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Randon Walker said.

Traffic detectives continue to investigate what caused the driver to cross the centerline and crash into a pickup truck just before 10 p.m. Saturday in the 12800 block of Northeast 399th Street, according to the sheriff’s office.

“We have no idea of contributing factors to the crash,” Walker said.

The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and only occupant of the pickup was taken to a local hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening, according to the sheriff’s office.

The names of those involved in the crash have not yet been released, Walker said.
