Woodland school board seeks to fill vacant position

WOODLAND — Woodland Public Schools is looking for someone fill an open position on its board of directors until the 2016 general election.

The position is the vacant District 5 seat, which opened when former director Jeremy Stuart resigned last month. District leaders plan to appoint someone for the position at a board meeting on Oct. 26. Applicants will have a chance to interview for the position two weeks earlier.

“Serving on the school board offers the opportunity for individuals to give back to the Woodland community by contributing time to create a positive future for our students,” Board President Janice Watts said in a press release. “We look forward to filling this position with a qualified citizen eager to continue the district’s dedication to excellence in education.”
