Letter: All religion created by men

In her Aug. 30 letter “Steer others from ruinous behavior,” Cindy Mael expresses distress regarding progressives’ behavior. To clarify, progressives and secular humanists find all religions to be systems of beliefs that give dominance over the majority of the people by wealthy religious leaders.

All religions and gods are created by men. Throughout the centuries, they have been scamming governments and the average individual into believing in their myths for their dictatorial and greedy desires. The “true believers” will say “the Torah, Bible or Koran, is God’s, Allah’s word.” Thus they have bought into the myths of these religions, without consideration of the irrational aspects of the stories. And the scam artists and “true believers” will say anything despite the lack of evidence for their claims. For all the evidence offered, both Jesus and Hercules and their fathers are real. So there is no point in bringing up one’s gods unless real evidence can be produced.

With regard to Richard Willerton’s Aug. 31 letter “Civilization relies on coal and gas,” regarding Adolf Hitler being a socialist: Hitler created the title for his party (National Socialist Democratic Worker) to confuse the average German, disguising the true nature of the fascist party’s goals. Otherwise, Hitler would have partnered with Joseph Stalin, instead of Benito Mussolini and his National Fascist Party, and not have made the mistake of attacking Russia.
