Event supports stroke survivors, families

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is hosting a free event for stroke survivors, their families and the rest of the community.

The event — Enhancing Life After Stroke or Brain Injury: A Day of Fun, Facts & Friends — is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the hospital’s Health Education Center, 600 N.E. 92nd Ave.

The event will feature multiple one-hour information and craft sessions throughout the day, including stress reduction, jewelry-making, salsa dancing with interactive instruction, self-care, active exercise, healthy nutrition and a scavenger health hunt. Door prizes will be handed out throughout the day.
