Vancouver organizations awarded for Collaboration

YouthBuild Vancouver was recognized with the Excellence in Collaboration Award from the Nonprofit Network of Southwest Washington

West Minnehaha — YouthBuild Vancouver earned the Excellence in Collaboration Award from the Nonprofit Network Southwest Washington at a ceremony at Heathman Lodge on Sept. 8.

YouthBuild Vancouver is a job training and education program for at-risk teens and young adults ages 16-24. It’s a collaboration between Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council, Partners in Careers, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, WorkSource and Vancouver Housing Authority.

The program allows its members to obtain a GED, high school diploma or construction certifications, learn work-related skills, participate in on-site work experiences and community service activities and receive job, college and career preparation services.
