COEUR D’ALENE, Idaho — The Idaho State Police say they have arrested an Idaho driver who caused a fatal head-on crash while traveling in the wrong lane, killing a Washington man and his two young daughters.

Ryan Turner was arrested Friday and charged with three counts of felony vehicular manslaughter. Each count carries up to 15 years in prison.

Authorities say Turner, 27, was driving his pickup truck northbound in the southbound lane on U.S. Highway 95 on Sept. 12 when he crashed into an incoming car. The crash took place just south of Athol in Kootenai County.

Mathew-Michael Baroni, 33, of Spokane and his daughters, Madilyn, 8, and Molly, 6, died on the scene.

Authorities say alcohol was likely a factor in the crash.
