A man considered to be one of the state’s most wanted fugitives made a first appearance Friday in Clark County Superior Court after being arrested Thursday afternoon.

Timothy Michael Delisle, 23, of Portland appeared on suspicion of attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment, possession of methamphetamine, first-degree possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of a firearm following a vehicle and foot chase on Northeast St. Johns Road.

Delisle also had a felony warrant from the Washington Department of Corrections. The agency’s website said Delisle was wanted for a Clark County vehicular assault charge.

On Thursday, an off-duty Clark County Sheriff’s deputy reported seeing a southbound red Nissan Pathfinder driving recklessly at about 2 p.m. and called 911. Records showed the Nissan had been reported stolen, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The Nissan turned into the Steeple Chase Apartments at 4617 N.E. St. Johns Road. Deputies arrived and attempted to stop it, but the driver, later identified as Delisle, refused to stop. A deputy then drove a patrol vehicle into the Nissan. However, Delisle still tried to drive away, and the deputy pushed the Nissan into a tree and an empty parked car in the apartment’s parking lot, according to the sheriff’s office.

The deputy struck the Nissan to prevent property damage or harm to pedestrians, the sheriff’s office said.

Delisle, who was unable to drive away, then ran.

During the foot pursuit, Delisle dropped a loaded handgun, which deputies later recovered, court records said.

He then jumped over a fence and ran through another apartment complex before being captured in the 3600 block of Northeast 49th Street, the affidavit said.

No one was hurt.

Deputies found that Delisle possessed some methamphetamine, according to court documents.

Judge Daniel Stahnke appointed Jeff Barrar of the Vancouver Defenders to represent Delisle and set his bail at $100,000. However, he is also being held on the DOC warrant.

Delisle is scheduled to be arraigned Oct. 8.
