Donate school supplies, backpacks

Battle Ground – Volunteers are collecting school supplies and backpacks for low-income students in north county at two stuff-the-bus collection events from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Battle Ground Fred Meyer and Wal-Mart stores.

This is the 11th year the North County School Readiness Program has helped donate school supplies to children living in poverty in Battle Ground, Hockinson, Woodland and Green Mountain school districts. About 700 to 800 students receive donations from businesses, organizations, clubs, churches and families.
