A 60-year-old Deer Park woman faces a murder charge after trying to solicit help to move a man found dead beneath a tarp in front of her home, the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office said.

Gloria Redmann was booked into the Spokane County Jail late Wednesday, initially on misdemeanor charges. On Thursday, detectives recommended a charge of second-degree murder for the death of the man, who has not yet been identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Redmann at first told investigators she didn’t know about the body, according to a news release. She later said the man had attempted to enter her home three days ago, and she would not let him in.

Redmann told investigators she tried to move the body after discovering it so she could park her vehicle under an awning but was unable to do so. She went to a local bar and asked for help, which was offered by a man who returned to her home. He discovered the body and left before reporting the body, according to the news release.
