Sen. Annette Cleveland, D-Vancouver, is hosting an event to inspire women to seek elected office. The keynote speaker will be former Democratic Gov. Christine Gregoire.

“As the first woman elected to the Washington State Senate from the 49th Legislative District, I am passionate about celebrating and promoting women in leadership and elected office. In Washington State, the number of women in elected office in the Legislature is on the decline. We want to be encouraged by inspiring women like Gov. Gregoire,” Cleveland said in a statement.

The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, located at 301 W. Sixth St. in Vancouver.

Reserve a seat by Monday by contacting campaign@annettecleveland.com or call 360-449-9121.

The event is a fundraiser for Cleveland. There is a suggested donation of $100.
