Hunker down and listen to The Columbian’s winter warmer of a new episode of Clark Talks.

This week, Kaitlin Gillespie and Dameon Pesanti delve into the final half of their two-episode look at the local beer scene. The pair interview Christian Ettinger, brewmaster and owner of Hopworks Urban Brewery, about the company’s coming brewpub in east Vancouver. Then they visit Bryan Ward, owner of newly opened Victor-23 per website Brewing, for a look at how business is growing in the shop’s first two months.

Then Cody Gray, founder of Vancouver Brewfest, visits the studio to talk about Vancouver’s growing beer scene. Finally, the pair turn to the kitchen, where Pesanti helps Gillespie brew her first batch of beer.

Clark Talks is The Columbian’s weekly podcast where the newspaper’s reporters bring you the stories and views behind the news. The podcast is free and can be found online at www.columbian.com every Thursday, or downloaded and subscribed to on Soundcloud, Stitcher and iTunes.
