Battle Ground — The Prairie High School ROTC cadets sponsored a charity drive from Nov. 1-11 in support of Northwest Battle Buddies, a Battle Ground-based nonprofit that trains and pairs service dogs with combat veterans living with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The drive culminated in a pancake breakfast at Mill Creek Pub on Veterans Day, where veterans ate free and all other guests were asked to donate $5, with all proceeds going to Battle Buddies.

On Dec. 5, the cadets and Russell Brent of Mill Creek Pub handed over a check for $1,380 to Battle Buddies.
