The Rams from Lacey took control in the second quarter with a 20-9 run as the Chieftains’ season came to an end.

Columbia River did get within six points in the third quarter before North Thurston put the game away.

“They just did a great job,” Columbia River coach David Long said. “They shot great and we didn’t. The better team won tonight.”

Andrew Vickers led River (15-8) with 16 points. Jacob Hjort, who had been battling a wrist injury, did not score.

“They put a good defender on Spencer (Long) and held him to eight points,” David Long said. “We played hard, just couldn’t hit shots.”
