A Vancouver woman was injured Saturday in a three-car crash on state Highway 14 at the Vancouver city limits, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred about 12:30 p.m. at Milepost 8 when a 2009 Dodge Avenger driven by Shawna Kuhnel, 41, of Vancouver ran into the rear of a 2004 Toyota RAV4 that had slowed for traffic. The RAV4, driven by Jaan J. Zeta, 19, of Vancouver, crashed into a center divider, according to the WSP.

After the initial crash, a third vehicle, a 1997 GMC Sierra pickup driven by Abel Pablo Avila, 34, of Camas, struck Kuhnel’s car. Her car ended up on its roof in a ditch, while the pickup ran up an embankment, the WSP reported.

Kuhnel was the only person injured in the crash, the WSP said. She was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland but was not listed as a patient Saturday night.

The WSP said Kuhnel was cited for following too closely.
