A Camas man who’s being investigated for child pornography and online child exploitation is now facing similar allegations in a fourth case.

Zachary William Akers, 20, has three pending cases related to the investigation and faces new allegations in Clark County Superior Court of possessing depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, sexual exploitation of a minor and cyberstalking. He appeared Tuesday on the new allegations.

His trial in the other three cases is set to start May 16.

Akers allegedly befriended several girls on Facebook, then threatened to expose private messages and compromising photos he had received unless they agreed to send lewd photos and video to him, or to meet him to have sex, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Akers used his name and a fake profile name to solicit the victims, police said. In several cases, including the most recent, he sent images of child pornography he had obtained to others over the Internet, court records show.

There are several victims between the four cases, ranging in age from 14 to 16, according to court documents.

During his court appearance, Judge Derek Vanderwood set Akers’ bail at $75,000, bringing his total bail in all four cases to $175,000. Akers will be arraigned March 4.
