Girls basketball: Skyview 26, Union 24

Sydney Friauf hit two free throws in the final minute of the game to rally Skyview past the Titans in a defensive battle.

“We were our own worst enemy,” Skyview coach Jennifer Buscher said. “We turned the ball over, we didn’t shoot well, we didn’t make our free throws. The only thing that kept us in the game was our rebounding.

“But give Union credit. They played a tough, aggressive defensive game.”

Union led 23-17 late in the third quarter and 24-20 heading into the fourth. But the Titans didn’t score in the final quarter.

A traveling violation with two seconds to go negated a game-tying basket for the Titans.
