A Vancouver man was killed and his wife and two children injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 26 in Central Oregon, according to the Oregon State Police.

Matthew Hiller, 42, was driving east on the highway near Milepost 93 northwest of Madras, Ore., at about 9 p.m. when his 2016 Nissan Pathfinder was struck by a westbound 2004 Ford F-250 driven by Juan Guerrero Gomez, 42, of Gresham, Ore., according to the OSP.

The bulletin said the F-250 had crossed the centerline before crashing into the Pathfinder, the OSP said.

Hiller was pronounced dead at the scene. His passengers, Wendy Hiller, 44, and two children, ages 12 and 1, were injured. The 12-year-old suffered serious injuries and was transported by air ambulance to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend. The child’s condition was not available Saturday evening.

Wendy Hiller and the 1-year-old suffered minor injuries. They were treated at St. Charles Medical Center in Madras and released.

The OSP said Gomez suffered minor injuries and was treated at St. Charles Medical Center in Madras and released.

Witnesses reported heavy snow at the time of the crash, according to the OSP bulletin. It said seat belts and child safety restraints were used and airbags deployed in both vehicles.
