Marrion Neighborhood — Evergreen Habitat for Humanity has received a $25,000 grant through the Vancouver Energy Community Fund. Money from the grant will be put toward Habitat’s Geometry in Construction program at Evergreen High School. Students enrolled in this program earn credit for math while getting a hands-on building experience. The class is taught through College Careers and Technical Education for students interested in the trades. Students work on their job site at the school, like regular Habitat volunteers all over the world work on their job sites. After the home is complete, it will be sold to a low-income family through Habitat with a no-interest mortgage.
