Police have arrested a Vancouver man suspected of burglarizing a Hayden Island home, but they still haven’t recovered two paintings stolen in the incident.

Ryan Stephen Hentz, 32, was arrested by Vancouver Police Department officers on March 28 for several outstanding warrants, according to court records. He remains in the Clark County Jail.

Portland police say he is a suspect in a March burglary on Hayden Island, but the paintings stolen during the burglary have not been recovered. Investigators worry they may have been sold or traded to someone unaware that they were stolen.

“The paintings have tremendous sentimental value to the victim as they were painted by a deceased family member,” Portland police said in a press release.

Anyone in possession of the paintings is asked to turn them in to their local law enforcement agency and reference Portland Police Bureau case 16-69858.

Anyone with information about the paintings’ whereabouts or who may be in possession of the paintings may contact Crime Stoppers of Oregon by calling 503-823-HELP (4357) or by visiting http://crimestoppersoforegon.com
