Letter: Herrera Beutler has answers

The Columbian did voters a disservice in reporting on the Oct. 26 debate between Jaime Herrera Beutler and Jim Moeller in their race for Congress.

Herrera Beutler dominated from beginning to end. Moeller dryly read his opening statement and his answers. When asked what was needed to fix our immigration system, he stated that we have no problems with our borders. When asked about transportation solutions, his only idea was to revive the CRC. When asked about college affordability, it was as if he’d never thought about higher education costs.

Herrera Beutler talked about specific solutions to secure our borders, legislation she’s supported to boost highways and bridges, reforms to Pell Grants and solutions to help students pay them back.

Moeller forgot to do his homework, and Herrera Beutler showed that nothing is more important to her than serving us. That was lost in your coverage.
