How Clark County college football players fared, Nov. 5

Jesse Zalk has record-breaking game for Central Washington

Jesse Zalk had quite a game.

One, in fact, that could live in the Central Washington University football records books for quite a while.

The senior from Prairie High School set two single-game records and one career record in the Wildcats’ 41-0 win over Simon Fraser on Saturday.

Zalk caught 10 passes for 307 yards and five touchdowns. The yardage is a school and Great Northwest Athletic Conference record. The five touchdowns (which went for 77, 57, 50, 44 and 7 yards) tied Zalk for the school and conference records.

Zalk also became the school’s all-time leader in all-purpose yards. He has 5,076, with still another game to go.

“It is definitely a cool accomplishment to gain that many yards and break the record,” Zalk said on WildcatSports.com.  “but it is not just about me it is about this team and guys allowing everyone to make plays.  I am thankful for my offensive line, my quarterbacks and everyone on special teams.  None of this would have happened if it were for my teammates supporting me and each other.”

Southern Oregon receiver Jordan Suell, a Fort Vancouver grad, also had an excellent game. The redshirt freshman had four catches for 130 yards and two touchdowns. He also had a one-handed catch that went for 46 yards.
