PORTLAND — Ammon Bundy, 41, and his older brother Ryan Bundy, 44, last week were taken from Portland’s downtown jail to a federal detention center in Seattle, where they remained Sunday night.

At some point, the two Bundy brothers are expected to be transferred to Las Vegas, Nevada, so they can help prepare their defense against a 16-county felony indictment stemming from the 2014 standoff with federal agents outside their father Cliven Bundy’s ranch near Bunkerville, Nevada.

The Bundys were transferred by U.S. Marshals last Wednesday morning to the Federal Detention Center-Sea Tac in Seattle.

They were both acquitted of federal conspiracy and weapon charges in the takeover of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge following a five-week trial in U.S. District Court in Portland.

In Nevada, they face 16 felony counts, including extortion, obstruction of justice, conspiracy to commit an offense against the United States, conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer, assault on a federal officer, and threatening a federal officer.
