Esther Short — Workforce Southwest Washington, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Reentry Program and WorkSource held a ribbon cutting on Nov. 16 to celebrate the launch of the new Linking to Employment Activities Pre-release program.

It will use WorkSource’s employment services to help up to 100 individuals incarcerated in the Clark County Jail learn the skills needed to get a job and reintegrate into the community after they are released.

The program will offer case management and training at the jail by WorkSource staff, such as in-person and online workshops and resume and cover letter writing.

It will also connect people in the jail to additional services, such as housing, transportation, childcare and behavioral health services, as well as keep up with employment and job training services at the WorkSource after they are released.
