Letter: Defense of Trump falls flat

How Donald Trump got to be the Republican nominee is a question Republicans will dwell on for years to come. I doubt, however, that the most relevant question will be asked, namely, what basic flaw in the party made the nomination of a bigoted, racist, misogynistic, crude, ignorant, vulgar tax avoider, marriage cheat and business fraud possible.

Now the news media are engaged in creating false equivalencies in the name of “fairness.” It is like saying that Trump may have murdered his grandmother, but Clinton once stepped on an ant, or, Trump may be a heroin addict, but Clinton drinks caffeine in her coffee.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
