Letter: Overreach overlooked

By George Hamilton, Battle Ground

The next time my right-wing conservative friends complain about government waste and overreach, I would direct them to “Chelatchie Prairie Railroad to construct new building,” Oct. 14, The Columbian. Liz Pike secured a $500,000 state “Capital Improvement” grant to build a maintenance building for a 7-mile-long railroad that carries no one, goes nowhere and carries no freight.

For those who are not mathematical, that’s half a million dollars.
