PORTLAND — A driver struck and killed a pedestrian Sunday evening in Southeast Portland.

Southeast Division Street was closed between 122nd and 125th avenues while police investigated the crash, which occurred near the corner of 124th and Division.

The driver remained at the scene of the crash, police said. The male pedestrian hadn’t been identified, and police didn’t expect to release more details Sunday.

The fatality is the city’s 31st traffic death this year. The city has identified Division Street as a high-crash corridor, and the Portland Bureau of Transportation says it sees 50 percent more crashes involving pedestrians than the citywide average.
