Renters give Vancouver C rating, an F for affordability

Survey participants asked to give Vancouver’s housing market a grade, gave it an F for affordability.

Those who participated in the national study of renter confidence by Apartment List, a rental listing site, gave Vancouver an overall grade of C. Other highlights about Vancouver, based on the survey:

• Pet friendliness and quality of schools each got a B- rating.

• Weather, commute time, jobs and career opportunities all got D ratings.

• The highest rating, a B, went to public transit.

• Recreational activities and state and local taxes each got a C- while crime and safety got a C.

According to the survey. released Thursday, Vancouver renters seem to be less satisfied than those in Seattle (B+) and Portland (B). Washington overall earned a C.

The second annual Apartment List Renter Satisfaction Survey received responses from 30,000 renters in the U.S.
