How Clark County college football players fared, Sept. 10

Week two of the college football season might be a little early to pay attention to rankings. But games involving highly-ranked teams saw Clark County athletes pitch in.

In Montana’s win over FCS No. 3 Northern Iowa, Mountain View grad Ryan Johnson started at defensive end. The senior had four tackles and one for an 8-yard loss.

Washington, ranked No. 8 in the AP Poll, beat Idaho 59-14. Union grad Trent Cowan caught a touchdown pass for Idaho and Skyview grad Hayden Schuh made two tackles for UW.

Union grad Taylor Nelson started at linebacker for Southern Utah. Had a team-high 9 tackles including five solo.
