SEATTLE — If you’re a Seattle household making less than $80,000 a year, you’re in the minority now. The Seattle Times reported Thursday that in 2015, Seattle’s median household income increased by nearly $10,000 and is now over $80,000.
“That’s the biggest increase among the 50 most-populous U.S. cities,” wrote Gene Balk, “and it wasn’t even close.”
Coming in second, at an increase of $7,024, was San Francisco. And coming in third, surprise, surprise, was Portland.
In 2015, the median income for Portlanders was $60,892, which is a year-over-year increase of $6,268.
