People in business

• Louise Fendrich has joined the Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce serving both as PTAC government contracting counselor and as a business solutions counselor. Fendrich was deputy district director at Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ office in Spokane.

• Jeff Jarvis has been appointed branch manager of the Wells Fargo office at 19100 S.E. 34th St. in Vancouver. Jarvis has been with Wells Fargo since 2010, most recently a branch manager in Portland.

• Amit Gosalia of Audiology Clinic Inc. has been honored with the 2017 Distinguished Service award from A.T. Still University’s Arizona School of Health Sciences alumni board. Gosalia was nominated for his service since 2003 as a preceptor and mentor for Doctor of Audiology students in Arizona and Washington. In addition to leadership roles in professional associations, Gosalia has also published articles locally and nationally and hosted seminars on hearing loss. He and his wife, Charmi, are also active in local community organizations.

• Two Washington state corrections employees were recognized for performance going above and beyond normal requirements and for positive attitude, sound decision-making and teamwork commitment. Staff are nominated for the awards by their colleagues.

Russell Kofford, who works at Unit 1 of the Vancouver Field Office, was named Community Corrections Officer of the Year.

Justin Thibodeaux, a corrections officer at Larch Corrections Center, received the honor of Corrections Officer of the Year.

• The Small Business Administration Portland district office named Carmen Nazario, ELYON International, Inc. Graduate of the Year. Nazario is a U.S. Army veteran from Puerto Rico. Her technology and management consulting company serves government and Fortune 500 companies.

• Alisa Tetreault, owner of Most Everything Vintage, has hired an in-house alterations seamstress, Amy Anthonson. Anthonson started sewing costumes in high school, branching out to burlesque costumes and upcycling clothing for all types of occasions. Her services will include custom dress and costume making, unique fashion accessories, and alterations and repairs to vintage clothing. Most Everything is located at 815 Washington St., Vancouver.

New business

• Vida Flare, a mobile food cart featuring southwest Mexican cuisine, will hold a ribbon-cutting celebration from 4 to 6 p.m. May 3, at Fortside Brewery, 2200 N.E. Andresen, Suite B, in Vancouver. Food samples will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, and local businesses are offering raffle prizes. Vida Flare is owned by Carmen McKibben.
