Two Boy Scouts from the Fort Vancouver District have advanced to the rank of Eagle Scout, having passed their board of review in December. Together, they amassed 605 hours of community service toward accomplishing their goals.

Ryan Stankye, 17, of Troop 310 and a senior at Skyview High School, led a group of scouts and adult volunteers in building 60 picnic tables for the St. Joseph Sausage Festival. He is the son of Ron and Karlyn Stankye.

Connor Weller, 18, is also a senior at Skyview and is the son of Mark and Kari Weller. For his Eagle project, Connor led a group of scouts and adult volunteers in cleaning and restoration work for the Hazel Dell community garden.

Two Scouts who achieved their Eagle Scout rank in January together accumulated a total of 271 hours of community service:

Joseph “Jack” Vance of Boy Scout Venture Crew 637 organized a canned food drive for the Ridgefield Family Resource Center. Jack, 18, is the son of Joseph and Lori Vance and is a senior at Ridgefield High School.

Richard Dinsdale, 17, son of Nate and Charlotte Dinsdale and a senior at Evergreen High School, led a supply drive for the Family and Community Resource Center. He is a member of Boy Scout Venture Crew 339.
