Letter: Kudos to senators’ work on care

On behalf of the American Lung Association in Washington, I thank Sens. Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell for standing up and protecting health care for all Washingtonians living with lung disease.

The Senate’s health care bill would have harmed the millions of Americans who need health care as part of their daily battle against lung diseases, including asthma, COPD and lung cancer, and Sens. Murray and Cantwell were right to vote against it.

The American Lung Association is hopeful the Senate will now work together in a bipartisan way to improve our nation’s health care system and ensure that all Americans have quality and affordable care.
